i just recently bought my 96 gsx, it came with cat back exhaust, and the front inner fenderwells, had been cut for more air flow i assume. The salesman also mentioned that the owner before me was a mechanic and ported the engine too. When i had my boost controller installed, with my turbo timer, the mechanic had said that he was really suprized on how much boost my car could run while keeping the air/fuel ratio steady, and said i didnt seem stock. any suggestions on what i might look out for or some kind of way to find out if anything internal is done without pulling it apart. I do plan on putting money into the car so anything that might alrdy be done can save me some money or problems.

Well if the previous owner didnt leave you any reciepts or proof of work, you will almost have to take a peak inside. If you drop the oil pan you can pull a rod and piston out and check to see if they are stock or aftermarket.

ported the motor huh? the salesman told you this? lets think here.

well obviously youre not stock (you listed mods), so i can see why the mechanic would say that. as far as the a/f ratio, whats he using to measure that? you didnt mention the car came with a wideband. does your car have wideband? if not, hes not measuring a/f ratio with anything. if hes basing that comment off a lousy a/f gauge, pee on him. a a/f gauge measures the a/f ratio as acurately as this coke can next to me.

youre on the t25. put the psi at like 15 or 16 and leave it. i bet you my car your internals are stock stock stock.

yup salesman don't know anything .. I work at a car dealership ( not a salesman tho :thumb: ) ... it's prolly a stock car with an exhaust, blow off valve, and a boost controller. That's it. I would tell a dealership that I had crazy internals too just to get a higher trade in value....
