My 1990 Plymouth laser rs turbo 4G63T block is at the machine shop and tomarrow I gotta tell them if I want the block bored out, I was thinking .020 over bore but what do u guys think? If go with that bore does ross make pistons for that size and will eagle rods still work?

The machine shop said if I want to put the original pistons back in then just keep the bore but if I plan to buy new pistons and rods go with a new bore. I am gonna go with the new bore with new pistons cause this block has 193,183miles on it and showing some wear;)

hey... my outlook is if the engine is out you might as well upgrade if you planning on making any kind of HP. and why not bore? it pretty cheap and the pistons you want can be bought that way for no extra cost. You probably wont see any real HP gains from the bore, but at least you will have clean, scratch free cylinder walls. I say get it .20over, but no larger than that

You have to tell them if you "want" the block to be bored ? Don't they have to tell you if you NEED to bore it? Or is it that they recomend you what to do and you are not sure what to do?
