Chips on Ebay

Do those Chips they sell on Ebay for our cars really do anything or are they snakeoil and info is greatly appreciated.

If your refering to the TMO based chip then yeah they are good cause they ripped off TMO's coding a while ago (well it's public or something now I hear, but whatever) If your refering to the resistor thing that tricks the maf to thinking it colder for 10hp or whatever then no...

This is the TMO rip off which is a descent chip from what I hear.

Sorry for the ebay posts however it's just to clear up what is being discussed and so people down the road don't get confused if they find this thread.

The TMO ripoff chips are no good. The stutterbox didn't work and the rev limit was still stock. I basically paid 100 for a guage feature.JUNK.

IMO this is one nice thing about our cars...there isn't a 'Chip' upgrade for them that all of a sudden gives us that much more hp...our 'Chip' upgrades are, DSMLink, AEM EMS...and they are programable

No, but the chip could make the car faster if it worked,no lift to shift and higher rev limit, even then it may not be worth 100 bucks, and gains would be minimal.

TMO is out of the chip business, which is a good thing considering how crappy their customer support had dropped to before they left. The TMO ripoff companies can sell you copied TMO chips, they don't know much else. The link I just gave you is to another guy who has figured out the code, and can do lots more interesting stuff with the chips. Read the link to find out what. And on top of actually knowing the code, his chips are a reasonable price. Much cheaper than TMOs ever were.

I have one of the TMO ripoff chips, although I am a bit ashamed to admit it.

It works fine, I do not know what that other guy is talking about.

However, now that Jeff is selling chips (www.keydiver.com, www.dsmchips.com), I would tell everyone to buy his stuff and not the dumb TMO ripoff. Jeff is a good guy, and knows what he is doing, and his chips are cheaper.

These chips CAN'T make any car faster. They add features that might let you launch harder, or shift quicker, but they can't add power.

I had a copied chip. It's worked fine with the increase REV limiter. The Stutter box works fine for that setup. I dump to the to an EMS.

I have on of the TMO rip-off too. It worked fine for me. I ordered one of the Key diver chip for the injector compensation, to get the timing back down with the 750 injectors. He seams to be a very nice and thoughtful guy. He was very quick to replay to e-mails. I would defiantly recommend him to anyone.
