Hey guys, I noticed that my boost was higher at night than during the day, is that normal? Is there anything i can do to make it more constant?

how much of a difference are you talking about? 1-2 PSI is normal, depending on the different ambient air temps for day/night in your area.

ok, according to contremprary chemistry the expanding and condenseing of gases (in this case, the atmosphere, or air that gets sucked into your engine by your turbo) is relitive and pending on what the time of day is in your area and how hot or cold it is there, (and even the altitude at which you drive your car) can have an effect on how much boost you get. Cold air= more dense, meaning that it has more potential energy to be expanded by you combustion engine. Hot air = less dense, which is not an ideal condition if you are looking for high boost.
hmm darth

Yea, I still have the T-2small and it seems to almost be able to hold the 15 psi at night time. But during the day, it'll be around 13 psi if its hot. Thanks for the explanation everyone, just making sure its normal.

I recently start modding my car. like 4 days ago I install my boost gauge, It went to 13psi, then dropped after a second or so. wonderin If the stock 2Gbov leaks that bad? If I install a 1Gbov, would it hold the boost at full throttle?

Boost gauges measure relative pressure, boost controllers are set to absolute pressure. Here's the scenario:

Ambient Pressure during the day 14.5psi
Ambient Pressure at night 13.5psi
MBC spring opens at 24.5psi of absolute pressure
During the day boost gauge says 10psi
At night boost gauge says 11psi

But the pressure in the manifold is probably close to the same.

Thats a combination of the bov and the whack t-25 turbo

Oh and thanks for that extra bit of info Batman

i have a hallman boost controller, and when its like 90 degrees or above,i can feal the lost hp.in the mornings when i go to work its a different ,more power, damn stock intercoolers.LOL
