Ok I have a simple question. Has anyone ever run a turbo without a muffler, but with the complete exhaust? How does it sound/perform over stock? I will be putting a muffler on where the resonator is later when funds are available. The only reason I can afford this is cause school has all the parts and Im not spending a dime. Any help is appreciated and a sound bit of it would be even better if at all possible,Thanks
Andrew

When I was in the process of building my 3.25" exhaust I had to run to the store to pick up the muffler I ordered that day. It was loud and kinda annoying, but something you could deal with if you had to.

after my 2 1/2' 02 housing, i have a 3' straigh pipe until the gas tank, and a small angle bend to go the rest of the way back. its a very straight exhaust.

I'm not running a cat, resinator, or muffler, and i've been running it this way for a month or so now. Its LOUD, and its not the best sounding exhaust in the world. But performance wise, its the best way to go, and thats why i'm running that set-up. But i am looking to get a muffler of some kinds in the near future, to help the sound a little.

running no muffler on mine...and other then the lower rpm sound you get (which sort of makes you feel like you are watching a demo dirby) the high end rpms sounds great. I like the sound of a car shifting at high revs with no muffler. Sounds crotch rockety....And about the cops..Clutch it when you see them...Got to pay attention though..

Personal note...The laser rear isnt that exiting. Especially on a 90 so the look of no muffler gives it that extra neat look which people tell me they like..go figure:laser: :laser:

Yeah I already have exhaust on the car...I have a 3 in downpipe coming as soon as I get 100 beans. I already have run no muffler with it disconnected right after the cat and it was loud, I lost a little low end but as you know 2gs have so much low end that it was acceptable. After doing that and reconnecting the exhaust(wanted to see if dropped exhaust was worth it for track) the car gained its low end back and and went back to being silent...too silent. Well now 4 1/2 weeks later I am hear asking you guys and got some good feedback thanks for the posts, and I will be hopefully be cutting the muffler off this weekend and I will get back to you on the sounds and performance.
