..... I've noticed that some members of dsmtuners.com have 1G intake manifolds on their JDM 4G63T motors and I don't understand how?
I put a "cyclone" motor in my car back in May. I originally installed the motor with the stock 1G intake manifold and found out, as soon as I tried to start the car, that the manifold wasn't sealing properly with the head. After removing the manifold I realized that there is a 4mm gap between where the manifold mounts and the JDM head intake ports are. I installed the "cyclone" manifold and the car runs, but I would like to use the 1G stock manifold. I'm having problem with a vacuum leak and after testing the intake system for leaks I found one at the gasket for the manifold. Plus I've heard the JDM manifold isn't good for flow in the upper RPM's. Any advise is helpful.
