Toledo,
Im new to this forum. I am starting a project car with my boss. We have common knowledge about cars.

We are thinkin of dropping a remanufactured 2.0 Turbo into his 94 Eagle Talon. Basically some of the common upgrades are wastegate, BOV, Turbo, Intercooler pipe, Air Intake, Exhaust, Under-Drive-Pulley.

What exactly does the wastegate do, and i havent found any, anyone know any websites?
Thinkin the HKS blow-off-valve, anyone have one?
Anyone know any links of a diagram of the engine. or basically any help you feel necessary, any comments, suggestions, ideas, would help out lot. Thanks a lot.

He's right, check the FAQs. In your initial post I can tell you are new to the turbo world so here are some quick pointers. You (generally) don't buy a wastegate. Unless the turbo you are choosing to put on is an external wastegate setup, you don't buy one. It will come on the turbo. There are a few places that will rework your wastegate to hold more pressure before bypassing the turbo, but not many and not a normal type of thing to work on. As for the HKS, WHICH HKS? HKS has (I think) 4 different type of BOVs. I use the SSQV and don't recommend it. I only got it because it was the only one I could find that recirced into the intake at the time. As for what a wastegate does, it's easiest to talk about it and the BOV at the same time. Both are used to keep the turbo in normal operation without "blowing" it up. The wastegate is a bypass valve that will divert exhaust gas around the turbine wheel of your turbo so the turbo quits making more boost pressure. The BOV is a bypass valve in the intake so that when you close the throttle the pressurized air has an alternate route rather than just stopping. If it were to just stop, it would act like a cement wall on the impeller blades and warp your turbo shaft or break/bend blades. As you can guess, either of these is unacceptable. In summary, the wastegate shuts the turbo off so it doesn't blow EVERYTHING up, the BOV vents the intake so the turbo doesn't blow itself up.
