I am going to be upgrading to a Green/equivalent turbo, and i want to eventually build a 6 bolt to drop in, but i have a few questions.
First off, I'm on a budget. I don't want responses like "well if you're on a budget then leave your car stock" or anything like that. I'm just looking for answers. Now on to the questions.

Since I am, in fact, on a budget, the motor that I may be building will be a 6 bolt block, 1G big rods, 2G (8.5:1) pistons, 1G head, etc. Basically, everything that was good about the 1G and 2G engines and nothing that wasn't. I just want to know what kind of power this bottom end setup can withstand. Like I said, I'd like a 2.4L with a forged bottom end like everyone else, but this is the most likely setup. All info is appreciated.

Sound like the type of budget to fit 2 engines into 1. Awesome idea, I have talked to several dsm wisemen that will swear by that setup. I have heard # from 4oowhp to 5oowhp. I would just focus your money to the side of safety ie. headgasket, arps, and other things to help maintain the hp a green can produce.

If I am not mistaken, Dre did the green setup with a stock bottom end 7bolt. So hp # will be in your reach with that setup in mind!

Well a totally stock 1g engine can handle over 400 WHP, and since I am a lazy ass cheapskate, that is the motor I would drop into my car if I was in his shoes. The higher compression would be nice for driveability, so if its in your budget, I dont see the harm in that.
