Well, we didn't get started until around 5:30 this afternoon, but I had already done some small things before my friends came over like taking off the heat shield, mani bolts, fan, and draining radiator. That's about all I could because my friend had an O2 socket, which he forgot to bring ehhe. We needed to go to autozone anyhow cause I forgot to buy some new oil, so picked up that while I was there. Ended up needed to make one more trip, but I'll get to that later. So after we got all this stuff, we proceeded to drain the oil, then started to take off the oil return and feed lines. Had a little bit of trouble getting off the oil feed line, but we finally got it off. After that, the turbo came off with no problems, just unbolted the downpipe and took it off with the O2 housing still attached. The only other problem we ran into was that the 1G return line didn't want to bolt up right, but after some work, it went on. The turbo pretty much just bolted right back up to the manifold, just was a pain holding it there from below while my friend locked the bolts down from the top. After that, we went to put the downpipe on and I just realized that the stock O2 housing had studs with nuts, so we went back to autozone to buy 2 bolts and washers. From there, it was pretty much cruise street as we rerouted the water lines to connect to each other with some heavy duty fuel hose. The rest is just minor stuff, so all in all we spent about 3 to 4 hours doing the swap. We got done around dark.

We started it up and checked for leaks, and all seems okay. I will go take it for a spin tomorrow in the daylight. I have my mbc all the way screwed down, so my boost should be about 13lbs for now (.8 spring). I need to get some 720cc injector's, but I'll have to wait for those and just settle for low boost on my 550's. We weren't able to get the fan back on because its hitting the tial 40mm at the bottom just barely. Tomorrow we are going to cut some of the shroud off and it should fit okay. Sorry for the long post. I'll give another update tomorrow.

congrats man.. sounds about my Big28 install cept I had more problems with stripped bolts and stuff.. get that beast together and at the track. im curious to see how the Green does with FWD :)

Not much new to update beside's that the car pull hard for only 13lbs of boost. I still need to tune it ..only really punched it one time and all is good, no leaks or no blown off hoses. I can't do to much until I get the new clutch in ..still on the stocker :( yikes. Now to get this 1G TB on.

Hrm, well im seeing max boost around 4K or so. I'll have to see when I actually start to "spool". I havn't boosted that much because of the parts I still need. I am currently rich and still need to go do a tune, but then again, i'm only at 14-15 lbs of boost.

Mistasparkles, I don't know how you were able to keep the stock fan, I not only had to cut my shroud just to get the fan to fit, but now the actual fan itself hits the top of the wg :( , so looks like I will be buying a spal shortly. I can't go without A/C in this Texas heat.

It's going to get used to not spooling so fast compared to the Big28 and fast spoolup time.

High or low settings? What turbo? What boost? Not questioning you, just curious, and also thought others may want to know.
