Spark Plugs? short post

The best to get for the $$$$$$ are the NGK either BPR6ES or BPR7ES depending on how hard you run the car. I got them from O'Rielly's auto for $1.50 each(I run the 7's)

$12?? Now you can see the markup in performance parts.. NGK BPR7ES plugs are the ones you want. You can get them at Pep Boys, Discount Auto Parts, NAPA, etc. whichever auto parts store is close to you.

Platinum plugs suck for turbo and nitrous engines, just so you know.

Just because I say so.

Platinum is a catalyst for heat. There is a piece of platinum in a platinum spark plug (hence the name.) When the combustion chamber starts to heat up (such as in a turbocharged or nitrous application) that piece of platinum actually becomes the hottest spot in the chamber, and can ignite the air/fuel combo before the spark plug even fires. Obviously, if the spark plug hasn't fired yet, the piston is not in time to be forced back down the cylinder, and that my friend, is exactly what pre-ignition is. Platinum plugs heat up really quickly, and can help create a more intnse flame for normal cars, and that equates to better fuel economy. From a performance standpoint, platinum plugs are bad bad bad.

Read my other posts. Do you honestly think I just say things for the fun of it??

Platinum plugs do not come stock, I repeat do not come stock on our cars! What moron told you that? I agree with Noslaser, he is totally correct in what he is saying about platinum plugs. My dumbass tried some Bosche platinums out once, and ended up with a real bad high rpm stuttering problem. My stuttering problem ended up being a very very small hairline crack in the insulator. You could barely even see it. I then swapped to NGK BPR7ES plugs gapped to .028. I will admit that I do have an idle problem, but I think it's mostly due to my big ass walbro 255lph over running my stock fpr.

extreme motorsports sells platinum plugs on their performance stages, and say that they are the best for 1g dsm's, is that just BS?

NO PLATNIUMS
When i first got my car i threw em in...a week later the plug gap collapsed...YES COLLAPSED, not good...i wish i had a camera on me ill show u...the top of the plug actually fell down LOL...u wanna talk about t he car making a farting noise

I would have to agree with NOSlaser. I was trying to decide what brand to go with. I know from experince that the platinum will set detonation in the combustion chamber on forced induction engines. But NGK's, it seems, are the call of the turbo DSM. I didn't know that the NGK's come stock though, well thats what I'm here for! To learn more about my DSM's.

Another thing about going to pep boys, napa, home depot, or who ever. Its kinda hard considering I'm in Germany. But maybe I can get them online.

Thanks alot everyone.

LSD I can send you some if you want.
How are all of you cars doing now? Did you get the keys made yet?

I can send you the plugs not the drugs OMG

hey mitsuboy sup man? didnt know you were on this forum too!

How much do you want for the plugs? As for the Probe, I'm gonna go to the Ford dealership after we come back from Spain. If theres no dice there, I guess I'm going for remote start and keyless entry
:D
