Hey guys, I was cruisin the Vfaqs when I came upon the EGT install,
LINK
it looks easy enough, but knowing my luck I'll probably mess something up. Do you guys have any tips for me? Also does anyone have any experience with that Westach EGT gauge and probe? The price sounds really good. Does that gauge go high enough temperature wise for my needs?

GET ONE!! It is a very good idea to have a egt guage. It gives you a better idea if you are about to melt your pistons.

For normal street driving, a 1600F max range gauge is probably ok. Personally, I'd go with something that goes higher to be safe. Also, I prefer a gauge that reads the temp in real time, unlike my old VDO...Get a Defi or Greddy gauge...

I have the autometer 1600F guage with the TRE probe. I love the TRE probe compared to the autometer piece of S&#* probe. 1600F is fine with me, I don't like to go above that on the street or track.

Also, when you drill the hole for the EGT tap, start with a small bit, drill, start the car, little bigger bit, start car......etc. You want the smallest amount of metal shavings as possible. That is if you do it like me with the manifold still on the car.
