ok, one of my idiot friends drove his 2g into a curb comming out of a parking lot, smashed up his bumper and put a big dent in the bottom few rows of his intercooler, its a greddy big frout mount(24 row, i dont know the core size, if anyone does post it)
he certainly cant aford to pay 1000 for another greddy and the endtanks are still good just the core is kinda dented in and crushed a little, a whole lot of fins are dented in, so where can we get a core that will fit on the greddy big fmic end tanks? or where can we get a new core and new tanks at a good price, im sure i can get them welded on, and he wants to have the tanks chrome dipped while they are off so this wolnt be a total waste of time
thanks for any help, i appriciate it

I know Road Race Engineering has cores of all sizes and makes, and price is usually right there among the most competitive ... give them a call, their customer services is top notch.

RRE

Good Luck,

Better yet, here's their Do It Yourself (DIY) parts page with all the cores and makers RRE ICs and it appears the Griffin Side-to-Side would almost fit the dimensions at 24" x 10" x 2.75" ... measure it up and see what happens.

Again, good luck .. BTW, RRE says the Big Greddy is 23" x 11" and I'm sure it no thicker than 2.75 so it may be an okay match with the pipes being a bit outta line.

might want to check out cheap turbo also. they have pwr cores and assemblies. i doubt they will fit the greddy endtanks though, being 3.5" thick and all. just another option.

thanks ill check there too, im sure buying a new core and new and tanks would be considerably cheaper then getting another greddy for 1100 bucks, so its probally an option we will be forced to explore

Depending how badly it's crunched up, it could possibly be salvaged by a radiator repair shop.

Mike

hunh, i never thought of that, its only like the botton 4 or 5 rows that are smashed in, every fin is demolished on those rows but it isnt cracked or leaking, so it might be fixable, ill be sure to look into that too, i would have never thought of lookint to a radiator repair shop to fix it, thanks
