OK guys help me out here. I have talked to Allen at Eagle rods about this. How you like to be able to get 2.25 liters out of our motors and have a rod ratio of 1.66 unlike 1.5 that the strokers have. It would be a custom 94mm crank and a custom 6.143 rod. In a 4G64 block (6mm taller deck than the 4G63) with a 4.425 bore will give you this. The piston will have a comp. height of 1.130 like the stroker but in a bigger bore.

I have several customers out there taking their strokers over 8,000 rpm’s. It would be nice to have another option available out there that could (if needed) be able to rev to 9,000 + rpm’s.

Even if none of you guys ever care to build such a thing please take the time to send a simple email to [email protected] and let them know that you would be a buyer if they would build such a thing. Allen told me that if enough people show interest that his boss would do something like this.

If one of the mods could please sticky this for a little while so that everybody could read.

is this on a 4g63 or a 4g64.....it sounds like a your doing it to a 4g63 but they already run 2.4 litres? so would you be de-stroking it? i'm a little confused? i've thought about stroking a 4g63 because swtiching over to a 4g64 is alota work!

Can you give us an idea of how much this might cost? I can see the appeal of running 2.25 liters at 9,000 rpm vs. 2.4 @ 8k. Looks nice.
I think there's a typo in your post, Did you mean 3.425" bore? 4.425" is just a little bit too much.

Yea get them to make the rod already.Thats what i was looking for when collecting parts for my 64.The 156 rod would be perfect in a 64 with the 63 stoker pistons just to get a touch of r/s back.Ok everyone-bandwagon time-email the eagle guy.

OFF-Topic.

But I what I would really like to see made is a set of Eagle rods for the 6 bolt 4g63 crank/block and 2g pistons. Then we dont have to have 1g "big rods" machined to fit the 2g pistons into a 6 bolt.

I am gonna run the 1g big rod/2g piston in my 95, but I really am worried about the rods. I would like to run Eagle rods, but I dotn want to run forged pistons because I want to be able to drive it daily if I want.

PM me and let me know what you think about it.:dsm:

Goog idea,that would be choice.

Forged are fine for everyday use.

Another thing, average piston speed on a 94 mil stroke @9000 rpm is about the same as the 100 mil(stock 64) @8500 rpm.Displacement is less on 2.25@9000 than a [email protected] 100 mil stroke will have higher peak piston speed due to shorter r/s ratio which in the dsm world could be good thing. The ability to run more boost w/less detonation due to less piston dewell @ TDC not to mention maintaining better vaccume signal at lower rpms-think giant cams. The only reason i would go to a 156 mil rod would be to lessen the piston sideload and i would buy a set,if made, for just that.

One more thing, wouldnt you be coming up short if you used a 94 mil crank with 156 mil rods on 28.7mil comp height pistons in 64 block,by like 3 mil?If youre destroking by 3 (from centers) and gaining 6 by means of rod then you would need to get a: pistons custom made w/comp height 3mil up from standard or b:use the stroker pistons and get 3 mil decked from block.

Yes they are fine for everyday IF you find a machinist that wont f**k up your tolerances. I dont trust anyone to do that.

Mikes speed shop-615-890-8030.The best looking machining ive ever seen.If you cant trust anyone to setup your block for forged then how you figure cast pistons going to make a difference.Someones going to have to bore for those, right?
