Bay Area,
ok im really under boosting right now, i have it set to 10 psi, im creeping to 14 in first gear... and 12ish in other gears @ WOT ... but for the main part its 10 psi... is this causing any harm toward my engine? , i mean usually i boost 20psi but i decided to tone it down for mpg but do you think this is harming anything? any opinions are welcome.. thanks
Raymond

20 PSI is definately not good. Your t-25 is way too small and inefficient for that pressure. Not to mention your fuel system is not going to be able to supply enough fuel to maintain a correct air/fuel ratio at that pressure. You need bigger injectors, an safc, and a bigger fuel pump to run 20 psi, even if you get a bigger turbo.

but 14 is no prob and infact you should try to run it there.

If you are creeping there anyway, crank it up to that all the time.

As for mileage, you only get the bad mileage of a 14psi run when you are actually boosting 14 psi. that means WOT for a few seconds. So if you want good mileage, just drive nice :)

man read my mod list... i dont even have a t25

i have a big16g with everything needed to run 20psi on pump.. im just wondering if spiking is hurting anything

As long as u have the proper fuel system set up it shouldnt hurt it at all. Only thing id be worried about is damaging your wastegate since its spiking or perhaps your stepping motor if u got an ebc from inaccurate settings and trying to correct. I know of someone who had that problem on another kinda car, he didnt think it was anything big until he broke something....=)

sorry, first off your sig does'nt show up, and most people put a few mods in there. Yea I assumed that since you were new you still had the stock turbo. My mistake. Slap a few lines of text into your sig so that people will know a few of the big things. Or if you are like me and don't have that kind of sig, just briefly put a few of the pertinent mods in the question post. Some people will not go to the trouble of going to another page to see mods. And if you have a problem, you might want the largest database of answers you can get.

As for the issue, yea as long as you have enough fuel you should be fine, even spiking to 20. As long as the rest of your car is in good shape and up to it. Dirty intercooler, loose pipes, crappy plugs etc are not gonna be up to 20 psi.

And your wastegate will not be harmed. It is just a flap inside your turbo that opens up to allow the extra exhaust out. It is designed to run at those temps.

Edit, I just checked your mod list and it is a big vague. Yea it says 16G, but then it just says "supporting mods" If you need help your gonna have to be more specific.

Just trying to help tho, not being a dick. Really.

Lets not encourage the breaking of sig rules. That is why we provide the profile area. Supporting mods are just that. If you follow any of the upgrade paths on the internet, you will notice that they are for the most part, the same.

20psi on a 16g is fine with proper supporting mods, and Bohrn is right about the WG not being affected.

so we can't even put in 2 or 3 lines of text hilighting our major mods so its easier for prospective help to see whats what??

as for supporting mods, one guys idea is different than anothers. I have seen guys with 20gs on basically stock cars, with a walbro 190 and a cat back listing "supporting mods". Yes they have some supporting mods but not nearly enought. Where is the ported maf, intake pipe, full 3" exhaust, 550 or bigger inj, SAFC, logger, upper and lower ic pipes, front mount, pressure regulator etc.

I would want to know what is there. Especially if we are talking about what boost level is safe for a particular car.

2-3 lines is fine, but we are constantly having to remove multi-line sigs....give an inch, people take a mile. I see your point, but if someone puts "supporting mods" and doesn't have them, they will pay dearly in the end. BOOM! I do think that people should not BS on typing the stuff out for their profile, but I personally don't care to read half-punctuated, multi-line mod lists in everyone's sig space. If you can fit it, and it falls within the rules, more power to you :)
