I received my Buschur 2G exhaust manifold yesterday. Have to agree with what others have said... not too impressed with the port job. The internal surfaces were left extremely rough.

Spent a good portion of the last two days with a Dremel cleaning it up. Was it worth it? I mean, it's really much smoother... reflects like chrome for the first two inches. I imagine this should allow for increased flow, and better hp numbers, right? One or two would put my mind at rest. :D

BTW, can anyone help me by explaining how to tap the mani for the EGT probe? Should be here by today or tomorrow!

Jason

you have to tap the #1 runner (closest to the timing belt) about 21/2 inches down the runner. you have to use a tap to make threads, screw in the fitting really tight, run all your wires and you are done.

I'm just gonna go ahead and do both. You know, to be different.

I assume it must be tapped on the 'top', correct?

If you are going to tap both then you will need to different guages and probes. The previous post was saying one or the other.

Sorry if you were just kidding or being sarchastic. It is tough too pick up by someone's writing.

:D Yeah, I was just joking around. Wanted to see if anyone would actually take me seriously. Much funnier without the giveaway 'jk' or smiley.

Actually, I'm thinking about tapping all four, and monitoring each runner independently. I gots mad tuning to do yo.

That sounds sweet. I heard that you can actually tap into the cylinders to get the best indication of how you are running. I am going to try that this weekend.

I will let you know and we can share tuning secrets.

I was just going to put the probe where the spark plug goes.

:D

I have heard of people having three different taps to a single gauge. They have one thermo. on the ex. man., another on the collector directly before the turbo, and one on the O2 housing. The just have a switch and switch between the different signals.

Auto meter makes a guage to handle more than one thermocoupler.

Actuall what im gonna do is like, custom weld a tube into the cylinders and run it through the firewall pointing right at me. That way I can just feel the heat, and know when I get sweaty...
