cost for labor on an engine swap?

in my opinion that is a little expensive. they charged me $600 for a motor swap which i still haven't got yet:mad:

-$300 isn't much if they can save you tons of headache down the road, Turbotrix charge $900, local shop charge $600, has this local shop done this kind of sway b4? I had read that it's not a direct drop-in, oilpump and some other part(s) need to be modified. RRE had quoted me ~$1000 to drop an 4G63 into a 89 turbo Mirage, that's a straight drop in.

Considering the average rate to pull a motor, and drop in a motor is 300 bucks each, that's 600 bucks. Then there is modifying all the little pieces to get it to run right... definatly worth 300 bucks if the shop does it right.

ok, thanx for the input .... one of the guys that would be doing it has swapped a cyclone engine into his 93 TSi AWD.... and it's now running low 11's .... i'm sure he knows what he's doing...

well i guess it's time to start saving then ....

i just got mine done the labor was about 18 hours it was like 800 for me then it depends on how much labor somone asks per hour

I was quoted $1,200 for full motor swap from Turbo Trix + any little parts here and there that should be replaced, worn, etc.
