I have a 1990 eagle talon tsi awd and i am purchasing an ACT 2100 clutch this friday. i was wondering if anyone new a good aftermarket flywheel that would perform well with this clutch and wont kill my wallet.
thanks for the help guys
:talon:

Does'nt ACT make a lightweight flywheel? I think they do or will in the near future. I think it is supposed to be pretty good. Havent read much about it, but you may wanna check it out.

You want a really good opinion? Well ok then...

Keep you stock flywheel, resurface it and take it somewhere that knows something about mantaining the porper step height. Then do not buy a 2100.... buy a 2600;)

My tranny is up there in mileage and i dont want to kill it just yet... i heard the 2600 is really hard on your transmission. my future mods are a full 3 inch back exhaust and a big 16g... think the 2100 can handle it?:talon:

the 2100 is rated to like 430 lb/ft of torque right?

LOL, ya focking right my friend. There is now way any 2100 will hold up to abuse from even a stock turbo's awd let alone someone with 430ft/lbs...

Trust me on this bud, I wouldnt have chimed in and told you what I thought. I know you may be asking for others opinions, but the reason is simply because that shit will not hold up at all to any AWD launches. It may hold for a month or so but kiss your $350 dollars good buy aftetr that. Doesnt it make sense why everyone jumps to the 2600 in the first place? Just do it and dont ask questions...:thumb:

ACT 2600 it is then..:thumb: I have no idea where to even start looking for a place to remachine my flywheel.. any suggestions in General?

act makes a lightweight flywheel......and act is good stuff so i'm sure it is decent....won't really know untill someone gets one and lets everyone know about it.....

Stock weight or aluminum...the risk off going in between can sometimes be fine but sometimes be disastrous. And the turnout of flywheels that explode are more than likely not a stock weight/aluminum/forged w/e usually resurfaced/lightened units.

Anyhow yoru making a good choice dude:thumb:

The ACT's are SFI 1.1 approved. Also depending on your application lighter isn't always better or necessary.

My car has an ACT2100, and it has put up with over 40 60' times under 1.9, and about 10-20 high 12 second passes at 105 mph or more.

As I get faster, I realize that I will need a 2600. But the 2100 is not that bad.

There are two weights of ACT flywheels.

Drag and AWD street people run the street light.

Road race and FWD with traction issues run the light weight.

They are both lighter than stock but matched for their own uses.
