I am thinking about up-grading to a big 16G. Everysite I go to says they are a "direct bolt on" I have hear this is not true. Does anyone know what all has to be done to do this upgrade, or can I really just bold it to the manifold and go?

You need the install kit... or some kind of install kit. You can make one for cheap. You just need a steel braided oil feed line with a banjo fitting for the center section of the turbo. Then you can ask for a 90 elbow to be welded on to make it a bolt on affair, or you can buy the j pipe from RRE and use a 90 degree bend exhaust pipe. Bend the water lines, re use some old gaskets and have fun.

like DSM BLUE TURBO said, you'll need an install kit. Another option that is the same price, but a "Direct Bolt-On" is either a Big28 or a t28 Killer turbo. They both fit directly on 2g turbo eclipse/talons and offer the same performance as a big 16g.

Do the t-28's are direct bolt ons? No welding, no filing oil returns? Nothing? Also, does any one have any ideas on how much I could sell a brand new, never used garrett t-25 for?

Yes, a t28 (or any variant) is a purely bolt on affair. All you will need is new gaskets. It uses all the stock oil/water lines and intercooler pipes. You could probably sell your new t25 for like 200-250 on ebay, depending on if you include anything else and how you write your ad. I sold my old stock t25 with 137,xxx miles to a kid for 150 bucks. Also, many companies have a deal where you can trade in an old used t25 and get a discount on a new t28 variant. People seem to be liking the t28 killer pretty good, but I love my Forced Performance BIG28. Best of luck. Oh, and you can pick up a slightly used t28 variant for around 500 bucks.

I don't think you're ready for anything bigger than a t-25 (in my opinion) unless you have more mods than you are listing in you're profile. I had a ton more mods than what you had listed when I had installed my 14b and when I did I was cought by surprise to see that I was hitting fuel cut really bad at 5000 rpms. I had to go out and buy injectors right away to deal with the problem. If you are wondering what was doen to my car at the time of my turbo install go to my profile and subtract the turbo and the injectors. Everything else was already done when I had my t-25. If you do end up getting a bigger turbo don't forget to port the hell out of that thing if you plan on running an internal gate setup.:thumb:

I don't have many mod's yet. But I am getting an Apexi safc, Blitz type S BOV. 3inch cat back system, re-wire the fuel pump, and a boost controller. Do you think I would be alright with those mods? I am not planing on running high boost...yet at least. Within the next month or 2 I am getting a FMIC. If I need to get injectors then I will.

Maybe I've been misinformed, but I've always been under the impression that a 16G flows better than a T28 and a big 16G flows better than a T28 Killer?

It's been argued ever since the Big-28 ever came out...basically the Big 16g and the Big-28 flow about the same which is 550cfm's...

People say the 28 is better down low bringing full spool quicker whereas others say the 16 is a shade better on the top end...

It's a toss up...that is depending on what car u have...I have a 2g, so for me there was no debate...Direct bolt up Big 28:thumb:

Don't waste your time with a bigger turbo untill you are ready for one. You can end up doing more harm than good to both your car and your wallet if you are forced to make upgrades by a bigger turbo. What I mean is that without all the support mods you will be trying to keep up with the needs of your turbo. Stick with what you've got untill your support mods are out doing the turbo, besides it IS the safest way for the motor to do it like that anyway.:thumb:
