Blacksburg,
well~ looks like my engine decided to crankwalk.....damn...anyways, gonna be in the market for a new engine soon and was wondering where are some good places? looking to get a lightly built, maybe stage I/II and have no idea where to look for good deals and quality. never really planned on engine swap, but then again, never planned on crankwalk either. i've got a 95gst and not really looking to do anything complex like 6-bolt swap. any advice, suggestions, pointers will be greatly appreciated. thanks

You're going to have a hard time finding a built 7-bolt motor outside of Japan. For serious.

If you want a built "stage 1" etc, motor, it's going to be a sixbolt, unless you build it yourself, or have someone specially build it with no warrenties.

Look on their website, or call and ask.

There really isn't a good reason not to put a 6-bolt in.

about how much labor would putting a 6-bolt in take? i'd probably do it myself and was just wondering how much time/money/headaches will it cost me. like i said, i never was considering an engine swap so i really havent had the time to research any of this. crankwalk is a bi***~

It cost me 500 to do the swap. It you was going to put a 7 bolt in you can put a 6 bolt in it's not that hard. You just need a 6 bolt flywheel and 1g cas with the short block.

Keep in mind if you go the shortblock route from Slowboy or anyone else, it's all those little Misc items that really starts to add up. For instance I am getting a stage II from Mike in a few weeks but also ended up getting a complete engine gasket kit, oil pump assembly, nuts, bolts, etc. to the order of $850. If you have the money, and your long term goals for the car are high then do it once, do it right, IMO.

Just curious as to who and where you had your 6bolt swap done at for $500? I'm from Asheville, NC, so there isn't to many shops around here that I feel comfortable with doing the swap, and I wouldn't mind driving a hour or two to a shop in Charlotte that is capable of doing the swap for me. Thanks, Anthony

Stay away from Jasper!
There are quite a few good shops out there who can build you an engine .
