when is it neccessary? my gst has 135k miles or so and the turbo still feels fairly strong. ive heard stories of poeoples turbo lasting till 120k or so but not often more.
what should i do? rebuild or buy a new 14b? i want to say 14b because i think it is a good turbo.

I would personally just wait till i noticed something wrong with the turbo. If it still runs great then keep it going, but most guys on here will tell u that for a little bit more money u could get a 16g. But hey, whatever u want to do is fine. its your car right?

with a turbo you might as well drive it untill you want a bigger one or it dies. Then it'll just be maybe a hundred bucks more, if that, to get a 16. So pretty much what the above two posts say.

A rebuild is several hundred dollars, yet a good condition used 14b is less than 200. If it does, you might as well just get a 16g or another used one.

The only thing I would rebuild on a 14b is any o-rings that are leaking.
