Installed Hahn Racecraft upper and lower intercooler piping, stillen short Ram and greddy type S BOV. Car runs great other than the boost being out of control-meaning spike to 20psi in 1,2,3 and as high as 25psi in 4th and 5th. ECU actually shuts the car down momentarily if reaches 25psi. I have checked and rechecked everything. Their are no other mods on the car (1998 GS-T). I know this can't be right. Car runs extremely fast (As a result of the high boost I am sure). When RPM's reach 5-7K boost is back down to 12-14. I can manage the boost by keeping my foot out of it, but this can't be good for the engine. A/F shows rich even over 20PSI so I guess I am getting enough fuel for now. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

You didn't list it, but perhaps the boost controler (If you have an after market MBC) is hooked up incorrectly. One time after bringing my car back from the dealer (Had to take all non stock equipment off for the dealer) I re-installed the manual boost controler incorrectly, and I was getting CRAZY boost to. I only ran it like that for a block or 2, but I did manage to get a boost reading of 24#. If you installed a boost controler, it is supposed to be plummed in series with the waste gate actuater, not it line. Just look on the net, I'm sure you casn find a diagram. I hope this helps.

I don't have a MBC. Something isn't right. I am thinking it might have something to do with the bottom nipple on the greddy BOV. What is the correct way to hook the bottom nipple up?

is the bov going to open atmosphere? I am having the same symptoms, but i just took the hose off the stock bov and stuffed a filter in the hose. boy does it sound nasty. wupuuuuusususussssshhhhh! I have a boost controller but only the stock boost guage. at wot in 3rd it goes to about 13psi on the stock guage and a/f guage is reading way rich. the stock injectors are good for 16 psi but the stock bov is only good for 11.5psi or real close to it. it is charted in this months scc mag. so at certain rpms and tp i get some fuel cut and or some boost cut. then i just punch and hold on.

No I am not venting to the atmosphere. You don't want to hit fuel cut. You are overboosting and your stock gauge probably doesn't eevn show it.

Dude thats completey normal once you get those mods. The aftermarket bov is whats doing it. Some cars don't experience it but most do. I have a 1g bov on mine and i was hitting 25psi like crazy. Definitely not good at all, so i got a mbc and until then, kept off the gas. The stock turbo system on a 2g isn't controlled that well so the stock 2g bov corrects it by not holding boost past 12psi. Once you get a bov that holds more boost it creates alot more boost. Just get a mbc and hook it up correctly and it will hold to whatever you put it at.

I disconnected bottom nipple and plugged the line. It now spikes to 16PSi and settles back to 14psi with no MBC. I am not sure why, but seems to be working fine.
