well theoretically you should be able to use the catback exhaust from a galant vr4 and at least some of a 1g nt's header if not all of it. of course the two wouldn't probably reach eachother, but some custom muffler shop work could fix that in a hurry.

other than internal engine parts (all the same as a 1gnt's) anything else would be either a vr4 part or a custom made job.

UPDATE!!!

IT RUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a ECU out of a 1990 laser and swaped the ecu cases becouse they bolt up differnt ways.

My ECU was MD153303 and The replacement was MD1622525? I cant remember, But i put in in and it fired right up.

I thought it wasnt going to work becouse the ECU's looked differnt when i opened up the case. My ecu had more traces and 1 more little card that stands on its side and the one out of the laser.

Im gonna go get the plates swaped and insurance back one and hit the road tomarrow!

I guess Galant GSX owners know more about GVR4's then owners do...

Look out everyone the service manuals are the "know it all, end all" . Hope his cast IRON pistons can hold up to the abuse he's getting.

If this turns into flaming...lock.
If people come from other boards to flame...lock.

I have no problem with that. I figured people would enjoy the mis-information.

?????? I guess I am lost here. Wouldn't a GSX and a VR4 be the same thing? I am not asking to be belittled here, but I don't understand the difference betwen the two cars. I have never even seen a Galant GSX...

The GSX is a N/T AWD Galant. The VR-4 is a Turbo AWD Galant.

Lol...hahaah.....actually the AF forum I haven't read in a long time and when I did it was for the plastic model section. A guy on galantvr4.org posted that dumbass' thread and it went from there. Maybe I have some type of forum addiction. Between here, galantvr4.org, the NWDSM yahoo group along with other yahoo groups and dsmtalk I don't have much free time.:o

Is the Galant GSX turbocharged?

There is one for sale in my area and I'm thinking about checking it out. Did these come with a turbo from the factory? The owner says that it's identical to a vr4 but it's not numbered and it has the gsx badges instead of the vr4 ones. Is this true? I thought the gsx's were awd NON turbo cars. Can anyone here verify this?

So if his car has a turbo it had to be put on right? Meaning theres no way it came like that. He's saying that Mitsubishi just called them Galant gsx's because they sold more vr4's than they thought they would in 91. After they ran out of vr4's and people were still ordering them they made the exact same car but just called it a gsx. Sounds believable I guess.

I've never heard this, I have to think he put the turbo on himself.
