NecroThread.....

Anybody else have any experiece this these Motive Products vacuum bleeders? I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out which adapter to use on a DSM master cylinder. Motive doesn't list any Eclipses in the app. guide, and they're weren't sure which adapter would work when I called them. I have two adapters (my best two guesses) in front of me right now, and neither looks like it will fit. Help!

You can build your own adapter using a spare stock cap/gasket. Motive sells a DIY that is just a barbed fitting and a couple of feet of tubing to use with your cap. You may as well buy it at Home Depot as I did. The universal adapter that came with my kit from MachV is worthless once the flat rubber seals hardens, made me spill brake fluid all over the engine bay.

Is the diaphragm really important? I mean surely it's likely there to prevent cavitation etc. but I'm thinking of removing it so I can cleanly install a fitting. I guess I could just install a really deep fitting and punch through the diaphragm.. :hmm:

I don't have a vacuum pump, but I do have one of those $6 sprayers from HomeDepot and I'm trying to decide if I would like to pump it up the system or down. I'm guessing a pressure operated system should push the fluid up the slave/caliper and into the master. Before I start drilling holes I guess it should be asked, could it be effectively used to push fluid in from the master? Or is that something only for vacuum pumps (attachment at the master)?
