hey guys

i know this has probably been asked a thousand times but i couldn't find it anywhere. Where can i buy the t fitting to tap the line. Also the line i tap, does it have a blue stripe on it. I tried using vfaq but i had no luck.

thanks

Hey Dan-

Noticed your post.

Anyways.....you can go to Home Depot, Lowe's, Hometown Hardware, Ace Hardware, hell you can go to Wal-Mart I am sure to get a plastic 1/8" "T" fitting.

Also the place you tap into is this:

Look for a hose tapped into the drivers side of your intake manifold that goes up to the fiewall to a solenoid that looks like your Stock boost controller (also known as BCS or Boost control solenoid). Cut it in half or closer to the solenoid its up to you...then tap the other part of the "T" to your boost gauge. I heard this is the best place b/c the "fuel solenoid" sees real time manifold pressure. Hope that helps and yes this is described in the VFAQ's, because that is where I got it.

I will see if I can get you a link with a better description and a pic. like I said hope I was of help.

thanks for the reply gsxtacy.

i tried home depot but they gave me some plumbing piece, also i looked on vfaq but all the pictures i see of the line to tap are different then my engine. Judging from the pictures, i found this vac hose with a blue stripe down it that looks like what you described.

Thanks for the help

yep the "myzero" page is what I followed. Some people are teeing into other hoses, on the turbo side of the throttle body, but I believe we get the most accurate reading of what the engine actually sees in the intake manifold.

altho 2 guages might be a good tuning tool. One teed in at the turbo nipple, and one at the manifold. Then compare them.

thanks for the help guys. when i got home from work i actually took the time to read the links you were giving me instead of just looking at the pictures. Hooked it up and it works great. Thanks for the help
