1 of the 4 holes that hold the turbo to the exhaust manifold somehow managed to get ovaled out, and it has no more threads. I dont know if anyone else has had this happen to them before, or if this is just one more thing that the guy who owned my car before me ####ed up and im just now stumbling accross.

My question is this, can this be repaired, or am i screwed and need to get a new turbo?

Any help would be great.

Thx guys.

BTW- the turbo can be retapped and threaded, or you can buy a new turbine housing or you can just leave it how it is if it doesnt leak...

I dont know that i want to sell it, but ill think about it.

If i retap the hole on the turbo, will that mean the manifold would need the corresponding hole tapped causeing me to use a slightly larger bolt in that hole? Or does the hole get filled before tapping, and then tapped to the original diameter?

Thx.

you could just drill both the holes out a little, and use a washer on each side, or you could just put a washer on the turbo... as long as it doesn't leak it should be ok

Ok I got another option for you... Ill come to your house give you my nicely ported and great shape turbine housing off of my 14b, install it for you and then put the turbo back in your car, give you my perfect (cap replaced ECU) plus 50$ for your TMO....
