Just curious what everyone that has the ability to log intake temps, how hot are your intakes getting? I went to the track last night and was around 135F OUCH end result = pull timing bigtime :< I'm going to go buy some aluminum sheet metal ..I think about 1/16 inch and do some cutting and make some sort of cold air box. Hopefully, this will get my temps down. I prolly could take off my headlight to help also. Any other idea's? Thanks,

If this is in wrong forum, sorry.

How will a different FMIC help me though? THey all block the front :> I still managed to run a 9.2@78 and i knocked 5 = ouch heh. This was 18psi and pump 93 gas. Last time i went 9.3@79. It was alot hotter last night though. I still have a few tricks I can do to get the car into the 80's on pump gas. It's easily there on race gas and more boost. Anyhow, I think a green is in my future in about a month I think eheh. Nothing wrong with the Big28, its a great turbo, but what can I say, I'm addicted to wanting more Power ehhe.

ok.. now i undersand. your measuring intake temperature before the intercooler not after the intercooler.. duh on my part.. do the heatshield and try that.. id really be interested in hearing your before/after #s

Yah, I am going to get some aluminum and make a cold air type box. Hopefully, I can get these down. It will take some time as I want to make it look nice. Your going with a different I/C? How is the car coming along and did you ever find out what was wrong with it after the last mishap? I never saw your findings. Good Luck

not sure to be honest but we figured since its apart its upgrade time.. putting in a 6 bolt with forged internal.. basically building a race engine :).. I may be going with a larger turbo which will require a better intercooler
