I'm looking to go external. I hear that its a bad idea to have the wastegate on the o2 housing since it'll cause boost creep on high boost. Would I get any problems if I was to bolt it onto my 2G exhaust manifold? Or should I get the T4 cast iron ones? (which are hella expensive!)

You can weld the flange to the manifold just fine with no problems, the t4 manifold is for t3/t4 turbos (garret style housings) so if your using a mistu turbo then the t4 manifold will not work.

Just take your manifold to someone and have the wastegate flange welded up on the #1 runner, it will look somthing like this

You can get the tial flange from RRE or Nate @ dimondstarmotorsport.com
Good luck.

The best location for a wastegate is after the collector or right on the collector.

Regulating boost off of one cylinder is NOT the proper set up. It will work, but it's not the right way to do this.

You will not get boost creep with a properly sized external WG off the turbine housing in place of the internal flapper.

well It all depends on what wastegate you use, at the collector I agree, but there is hardly any room there to work with as the hood and the radiator is in the way for any kind of dump tube, thats why I stated the #1 runner, thats where mine is now and I hold 27 lbs of boost with no problems at all, rock solid. I use the tial 35mm gate.
