spark plugs...

Tallen,

This is what we use in one of our race cars, '92 Talon Tsi AWD. You can get them from Napa, part # 2023 = NGK BPR7ES Spark Plug, each. I would try a .028" to .032" gap and see what works best.

Take care,

Christian.

what NGK plug do you 2g DSMers use (larry)??

well I can tell you that the Ceilca GTS comes with Denso Iridium spark plugs but when you go with nitrous or any other forced induction you have to replace the plugs to a colder plug which they use NGK plugs as well..

you just really cant use platinum plugs with forced induction...or at leist i know with out nitrous...they wont handle it as well as a nice ngk will,i melted 2 of them!

I am using the same only in a 1g. Does it not matter if they have the "R" as long as you gap them properly? I was curious cause RRE sent me the bp7es's. If I would've known you can use these, I could've just bought them in the local store... :)

The R is for resistor... I think that is what you are talking about.. just gap them to .28.. i've found that is the best

Here http://www.extrememotorsports.com/plugfaq.htm this might help you out if you want to know what the differences are between the BPs and BPRs. I'm not going to get into this crap as its been gone over before (I'd probably accidently quote someone) but you might look on the Digest for even more information on sparkplugs.

If you start to make some really wild power, and get some really high cylinder temps and pressures, then you'll step up to the BR7ES. ;) It's a non-projected plug that doesn't retain as much heat, and is ideal (but most of the time not entirely neccessary) for turbo/nitrous or turbo and nitrous combos.

Regards,

I took my sparkplugs up today for4 a check since the car been studdering and feeling like crap for a few days..I noticed I have NGK R BPR6EKN in my car.The have dual tips and I was just curious ,,aren that stock plugs? If so...I am afraid that they might nver been changed on this car..*LOL* What should I go for when changing them now? I am not up in the mods list yet..so I am pretty much stock so far..just
minor mods.

Ideas on what to get?

what about if your ceramic center turns RED? I pulled my plugs the other day and ALL four where red where they should be a off-white color. I know they were crisp white when I installed them, and that was only around 3,000 miles ago. Any thoughts?
