KRAB

I'm buying an eclipse and was wondering how much maintenance is needed when you get into the higher horse power areas. I'm planning on eventualy getting the car to 300 hp as a daily driver. How often does stuff break, what is needed to keep the car running smoothly, on average how much money do you spend a year to keep your car running? Any info would be great.

300hp alone will not change your maintenance schedule very much, if at all. You might need to change your plugs a little more often, but that's it.

300hp is also a generally safe level to be at where you do not have to worry about things breaking due to stress. Of course, if you abuse the car on a consistent basis you will break things, but that is not due to horsepower levels. By abuse, I mean reving to 6k and dropping the clutch at every stop light.

Assuming you use common sense, there won't be much more maintenance required at that horsepower level.
