exhaust manifold

hey my stock exhaust manifold is cracked very badly and i need a new one...i'm looking for a 2nd gen but i was wondering what some other options were. Any help you guys could give would be great thanx ^.^

You can get a 2G manifold, an Evo manifold, or a custom tubular manifold.

The 2G manifold (ported, of course), while the least expensive, will most likely be your best choice.

why is that? will the EVO work with my stock turbo or no?

I evo one would work with your stock turbo, but to get the most out of it you would need to get everything port matched for the best flow. The collector on the EVO manifold starts out bigger than the 2G one. IF you get the 2G manifold ported it really shouldn't matter much. The 2G manifold will flow enough air for over 500whp.

Once properly ported, the 2G manifold ends up being the same size as the Evo manifold. It's just not worth the extra cost IMO.

You can buy a used 2G exhaust manifold from a junk yard or trader for $75. Then port it yourself or have someone port it. A wise investment.

I got my 2G exhaust manifold cnc ported to match my head and turbine inlet. I had DSM Performance do it. IT F**kin' ROCKS. It looks like a mirror on the inside. If that is not good for flow I do not know what is.

What about the manifold cracking? Will it not hold as much heat ported with a big turbo and be less likely to crack?

Mines cracked in 4 different places. I just don't want to end up with another cracked pos again but, a few hundred dollars later.

How many miles did you manifold have on it when you found out it was cracked??

Most cracked manifolds I have seen have over 100k miles on them.
