It is time for me to get a new turbo. Here are my MODS


1995 eagle talon TSI FWD
Brobe UICP
1g bov
K&N cone filter
Vp 02 housing DUMP
3" down pipe
3" cat back
TMO stage III
boost gauge
air fuel gauge
255 walbro going in with new turbo
pocket logger soon


Here is my question I have about 1000.00 to spend I can get a PTE 50 trim with with all the Lines and gaskets shipped for 1120.00 Im wondering if this is a good choice for me to get this turbo install it with the 255 and keep the boost low untill I get the rest of the supporting mods. is this a good choice please help me to make my decision.

I voted "Dont get a turbo at all".

I do not see the point in upgrading your turbo if you can not afford the rest of the supporting mods to truly enjoy the new turbo.

You should save up and get injectors, your pocketlogger, and a bigger intercooler before you drop any $$ on a new turbo. The only reason I see for upgrading your stocker to something larger before the rest of the mods are done would be if your stocker takes a dump.

it depends on what you are trying to do...

street/strip? full drag? autocross? quick daily driver? full race car?


do you want quick spool, or high boost?

mostly pump gas, or mostly race gas?

how much HP are you looking to put down? with what PSI? once you awnser those questions... then you should start looking at compressor maps... and spool charictoristics...

I have about 1100.00 tp spend do you think I should try and get intercooler clutch injextors with that money and then wait on the turbo?

Get a used 16g in really good shape (roughly $450), new 550's ($275ish), and a AFC (Roughly $325).

Money spent, $1050.00.

Hp gained over the T25? About 75-85.

Fun factor increase? LOTS.

Yea whats the fun in getting a 1200 turbo with out the supporting mods. I would go with the big16 660's and the new DSM Translator!!!!. And go from there.

Well here are my other options. I can work on the suspension and then with the money left over from the suspension start getting stuff I would need for a bigger turbo. Injectors sacf ETC.
about the 16g you have to remember that I have a 2G and I have to get a 300.00 install kit! Im really stuck here on what to get!
