I have searched a little about this but still have some questions. First off, I've got a 92 TSi AWD that I'm building up currently. I know the stock CBV will not suffice for what I'm doing. I want to run 20psi on the street and about 25 on the track, and I need to decide on a new CBV that will do this well enough. I've looked into both Greddy valves and I think the type-s would suffice, although the type-r may give me a little more head room... But, I've been reading alot about how people like the HKS SSQV with the recirculating kit. It sounds like this is a little more reliable as well as responsive, what are your thoughts for anyone who's used it? Would this be a better route for me to go? Does this one hook up the same I'm assuming? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I've heard that the Stock 1G is only good up to ab out 18PSI AFTER it has been crushed. Some blow off valves that i have heard good things about above 25PSI are the Greddy, HKS, and the Blitz. Just my 2 cents.

Crushing a 1G BOV is a real hack. You can get better results from it by modifying it, like several people have done. Dejon Tools sells a kit to mod a 1G BOV:

Its similar to what some Dodge guys posted online about how to modify a 1G DSM BOV they were using. This other method is a little more of a hack than the Dejon tools kit, but its also a good bit cheaper.

the HKS SS BOV is a good choice because it is a push type valve...what that means is when yourre boosting the valve stays shut because the boost pressure is keeping it closed..so no matter what psi you run it will hold it..

well unless you're good with making custom intercooler pipes, then dont get the HKS ssqv as you can see from many of my recent posts..im haveing a hell of a time finding a UICP that will fit

Thanks for the input. I know the 1g bov won't last and I don't want to chance it leaking after all the work I'm putting into my car. Do it right, do it once! Anyhow, I ordered the Greddy Type-S since I know many people that have used it and had success with it. I didn't feel the HKS was necessary because I don't ever plan on venting just to impress people since it's not worth a shitty running car.

Well if you do get an aftermarket one let me know if you are interested in selling the stocker....
