i was looking into eagle rods and i was wondering how much they can hold rpm wise. i also have crower valve springs and titanium retainers. i am either going with hks or crower cams and didnt know if i should go with ss valves or just stick with the stock ones. i guess the question is when i get all my goodies for my engine should i bump up the rev limit or should i stay where it is.

To this date, I have not heard of eagle rods breaking, good rods IMHO.
As far as the cams, go with the HK$ 272's, if you are using the stock rev limiter then the stock vavle springs should be fine for now.

But yeah, eagle rods-cheap-strong as hell-and light weight= great rods.

I believe I remember reading someone posting that stock valvetrain has gone 11's? Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

stock valvetrain has gone 10's. the diamondstar motorsport car had a stock head. and it went 10's with a little bit of nitrous to help out.

you don't want a 272 intake on anything else but a racecar (i.e. sean glazar, 8 second talon) and running them on stock springs?

Many people run a pair of 272s on the street. It's really not that bad. They actually idle better than some web cams I've heard. If you're gonna upgrade, do it right the first time and get the 272s. How many times have you heard of people needing to upgrade from 272s? Almost never. It's good enough for 10s, 9s, 8s, and 7s yet you can still get them to idle pretty smooth.

[EDIT] Also, the HK$ cams work w/ the stock valvetrain just fine. I had them on my 1g for a couple thousand miles.
