Hello all. Currently I own a 93 TSI AWD, but in the next year I plan on purchasing a 2G(hopefully a 97-99) GSX. I would really like to mod the car I have now, but am afraid to due to the fact that I would have to either sell the mods for the 1G or be forced to take a loss on them when I get my 2G. My question is are there any performance parts that are interchangable between the 1G and 2G's? I would of course like to start with the basics, but I know for example that the intakes are different so that is not an option. How about boost controlers and piggyback systems. Universal? Anything else that comes to mind? Thanks for the time and suggestions.

Take your BOV with you when you swap. If you have a K&N, take that with you too and get the adapter so the filter fits on the 2g intake. If you want to get daring, I would say the intake manifold. I would personally keep the 93 as a beater (boy I hate to say that) and just work on the 2g. Finally, I would look into pulling the 14b to use on the 2g.

Any MBC will work with both. I think all the electronics are different. If you have the chance before you sell the 1g. Pull the exhaust manifold and O2 housing on the 2g and port them.

y dont u do this take the whole motor out of the 1g put it in the 2g .. take the 2g put it in the 1g.. cuz the head is also an upgrade for the 2g so instead of rippin geverythign apart just do a simple swap

Good idea, I would swap out the 2g motro for the 1g for sure. All pigy back systems are interchangeable. They are not made for specific cars, they usually just have different harnesses for different applications. Take your intake manifold like someone mentioned, and put it on the 2g, but keep on the exhaust manifold. It's better to use the 2g intake flange on the 1g intake manifold though(better flowing). Good luck with your modding.

Thanks for the tips. The whole engine swap is a little too much for me to want to do, already had to do that to my old dsm. But the other parts I'll definitely consider. I have also debated using it as a winter "beater" but there again it all depends on how nice the 2G I find is and how much I am willing to pay/sacrifice for it:confused:
