I found a JDM engine and transmission for sale in California. It has a 16g and 510cc (yellow top) injectors. I have gotten them down to 1700 +450 shipping. Is this a good deal? Here are the mods i plan:

supra sidemount
full 3" exhaust
dejon tool intake
intercooler piping
walbro fuel pump (any suggestions on size?)

and then the necessities (gauges, mbc etc)

Thanx a lot

sounds good to me dude as long as the engine and tranny are in good shape. Do you know how many miles are on the engine and tranny??, if you want to stay with a small 16G then I'm pretty sure a walbro 190 would suit you fine

they say about 67k KM on both the engine and tranny. I would not use the tranny because it is a JDM E39A VR4 RS so the tranny won't work because of different ratios. Good deal?

Not a good deal to me? Do you have a core motor. I am gonna go through Slow Boy Racing. I am gonna get them to build me one. I'll get 1G Rods, Weisco Pistons .020 bore, Weisco Rings, and alot more for $1799 and they will give you a core on your motor. Comes out to $1500 plus shipping for a new rebuilt motor.... no miles. Thats the deal they gave me. Look into it. www.slowboyracing.com let me know what you think later

Im gonna hafta say No not a good deal not bad but not good, simply b/c If you are gonna pitch the tranny anyways, why not ask them to just sell you the engine at a lower cost? Then it would probly be a better deal. Keep in mind that you don't know how the engine has been treated, and the reputation of who you are getting it from should play a factor. What are you gonna do for a tranny if you get rid of the one that comes with this engine? In all honesty if I had it to do all over again I would have just saved the extra and got a built engine. In the dsm world there is not much of a difference in the JDM engine and the American Spec. Hope this helps some :dsm:

LOL!!!

Do you think America was gonna be the only country to want these great peices of machinery??

no i dont think america is the only country that wants the car i'm just sayin if theyre made in illinois then wouldnt they be technically a domestic to us and an import to japanese consumers so technically if you did get one from japan it would still me american cuz we sent it over there back in the day? it was just a simple question now look what its got into.

sorry to say: that price sucks, that shipping price sucks, and the milage sucks. how long are you willing to wait for an engine? i got my 30k 'big16g' setup identicle to yours out of a 92 G-vr4 for 1300 (our shipping is usually around 100...) only problem is no 4g63 in stock, would have to wait for it to get here. give me a shout if your interested.
