its been done this way many times before, i should be able to replace rings, and hone cylienders without even removing the block right, and send the head away for a valve job

i could aso do the oil cover and water pump too, all witout pulling it?

Yes, you can, and if you're desperate for space I guess you could.

Your back will *hate* you for it though. Leaning over the engine compartment for that long is nobody's idea of fun. Rent an engine hoist and save yourself some agony...

That is really not a good idea... Way to much time will be wasted doing it this way, along with not getting you block machined

it can be done but why? just pull your motor and get a motor stand, their like $80. Hook it on the stand and do your rebuilt. Drop it back in. It's a pain in the ass for everybody involved to do a rebuild inside the car. Besides you get down to just the block sitting in there. whats left? Drop the tranny and undo a few mounts and the block is out...

I managed to rebuild without pulling the motor, but it wasn't comfortable. I had no other choice, but I managed to replace the rings and do all that I needed. All that's left for me is the timing belt, new oil and filter, battery, and like 4 hoses. It's the BEST feeling in the world rebuilding your engine and getting it running correctly. Good luck. If you need help, just ask.
