Can you pull the engine out of a DSM without pulling the tranny with it? Or do i have to pull the tranny out at the same time. I am swapping a motor from my 93 Eagle talon to my 90 Eagle Talon, and then fixing the 6 bolt and putting it in my 93 and then selling the 90 already running. I know it sounds like alot of work, but i want to get the 90 running and sell it so i can use the money to fix up the 93 that i want to keep. Oh yea they are both AWD's and 5 speeds.

I believe you either have to drop the tranny first or take it out with the engine. I don't think it has seperate mounts to support it without the engine in. I am working on pulling my friend's motor from his DSM and we are taking the tranny with it. I would recommend taking it with it also. It is alot easier than crawling under the car on the dirty ground:thumb: Good luck with the swap

There's not enough room to swing the engine over and lift it all out as a single unit....

Actually there is. If you swing the transmission foward (angle it) enough, then you can pull it with the tranny at the same time. It has been done a million times before. :thumb:
