Olney,
Ok everone i have ever talked to about the Cyclone Intake has told me not to get it...But not one of them can give me a reason why not to get it...from what it looks like and the theroy behind it do does not look like a bad mod...Dule runners, low and high end, shorter runners, bigger TB...Pleas can some one set me stright here im about to go crazy...LOL...

the reason that most people do not like the cyclone intake mani is because it is mildly more restrictive than a stock 1g. true, it does give you more ooomph on the low end, but i have read that on the high end you lose a little. i wouldn't go spending my money on one.

I want all my power for the 1/4 mile and the light to light races...AWD gets doged on the high way...and also how would it effect my top speed...

I prefer the 1g over the cyclone, and I'm running the cyclone. The main problem is if you want all vac lines to hook up, then you have to find a 1g throttle body made after 92(I think), and the EGR valve in a sense can be blocked, but not like a 1g or 2g can. They are removable on those intakes, on the cyclone, its built into the unit itself. I'm sure it comes out, but you would have to seperate the two peices it is in! Then find some way to plug it!

I am not even sure if it will give you anything extra on the bottom end without JDM ECU to control it. Its control is not as simple as vacuum/boost actuation, the way that most US guys are running it. In Japan they use ECU and solenoid to properly control it.

So you get slightly worse top end and questionably better bottom end...

But you get to say that you have a JDM part on your car, which seem to important to some people :).

F that i want to win races here, dont care what i have to put on it...well i kinda do now now its becoming a budget project after all the work i had to do...

that's why i wasn't comparing it to a 2g intake mani tsipro, because the sensible thing to do is get a 1st gen set up. sorry for the confusion:) i guess.

and oh yeah,........ true you lose some in the awd drivetrain on the highway....but if you lighten the car up some to compensate for it,,,,,there will be no dogging of the awd. plus the awd vs fwd on the highway theory is blown way out of proportion by most. stock to stock, the awd is "slightly" slower & heavier,,,, but it would come down to the better driver basically. the fwd's don't pull that much more on the highway. (at least from my experiencesLOL
