I really dont want to dish out the cash to get a big and fancy FMIC. The power i would like my car to put out doesnt really need one. I was thinking if i got a starion front mount...would i be able to run the front mount as well as the stock side mount. Just connect the starion to the turbo then from there to the sidemount using both IC to cool the air. Let me know what u guys think. Also, i got a catback exhaust and test pipe on my car as of now, boostin 16 psi. Should i get a fuel pump next or downpipe? I'm debating on what to get next so i though i should ask u guys first. Thanks for any help.:thumb:
 
Don't use either of them especially in a series. Your pressure drop would be horrible. Get a supra sidemount there is 1 or 2 on ebay right now.

Get a fuel pump before the downpipe, if your like me you don't want to risk having soupy pistons.. :thumb:


Oh btw what size piping are you using mandrel or pressbent?
If your running 3inch I would port your wastegate hole and housing before I would upgrade the downpipe.
 
I didnt go 3in because i dont want to go bigger then 16g so i got 2.5in mandrel bent catback and 2.5in test pipe. I was thinking of doing to supra sidemount. I guess thas what i will be doing.

that core is CRAP, and dont put BULLshit on your car. if you cant afford to properly mod your car, then keep it stock.

its not a point of cash flow, its a point of not half a$$ing a setup for cost reasons. save untill you can do it right.
 
We arent trying to give you an attitude, the starion core is very bad. So is the stock core. When you hook them together you arent making anything better. The supra IC is the best way to go for a cheapo IC. Otherwise larger inlets and outlets on the stocker helps quite a bit.
 
The starion FMIC had nothing to do with what i was trying to say in my recent post. U guys say its bad then i guess its bad. I dont know too much about that perticular intercooler. jdmawd just seemed to talk out of his ass in his first post. But u do prove a point in ur second post...save and do it right.
 
The idea of two intercoolers hooked up one after the other is a bad idea, regardless of how good the interoolers are. That's because an intercooler will have some pressure drop, they all do. If you hook up two of them in series there will be more pressure drop, and less power. The right way to hook up two intercoolers is to split the pipe into a "Y" so that air goes through both intercoolers at the same time, then another Y to rejoin the pipes after the IC's. But that's a PITA to make it fit.

I guess 2 intercoolers isn't such a bad idea after all; check this out!

Twin SMIC Setup

Looks like he split the pipe after the Compresser Outlet into two directions, and then they meet up again at the Upper Intercooler Piping. Really cool!

Supposdly:
-Good for 500HP
-Less Pressure drop than stock
