I am going to be buying a eclipse from a lady at work, it is a 93 eclipse, or so she says, i think it is a 92. It has the 1.8 stock engine in it and i am going to want to get a new one. Was thinking the 2.0 Turbo or the 2.0 without turbo and adding my own later. I am planning on doing some crazy mods to it. Need any suggestions as to where to order the engine and as to what is the best. Also wanted to know what i would need to do to it for it to handle a couple of nitros shots. thanks for any info. Also, where is the best place to get parts? is DSMtuners.com a good place, or can i get them cheaper else where? I am hoping to be doign most of the mods my self, The engine will probebly get done at a shop, but the rest sounds like fun.

THaks for any info

PS. are their any sweet body kits for a G1 eclipse?

dsmtuners.com doesnt sell anything. I'm not sure if a 4g63 has the same engine mounts as the 1.8l non turbo engine. You may have to fab a lot. Just skip this car and keep looking until you find a turbo one that works. I know it sucks to wait but it will be worth it.

THis car is only going for $1000.- and has a brand new Cluths and Transmision. and looks pretty good. that is why i am going for it.

If you are buying it for $1k, then drive it into the ground and then give it away to a charity.

There's really *no* point in starting with that handicap if you plan to upgrade; just getting yourself to the sort of condition that a $2500 turbo car is in will cost you twice that, by the time you're done.

Buy the car, clean it up as much as possible, then sell it for a 2.0. I had a 94 Talon DL before my Tsi and the price of the motor swap (2500-3000) plus the work just wasn't worth it. It cost me 1800 extra over the price of my old car, but I also got AWD, lower mileage, and better maintenance from the previous owner.
