Hey all,
I've got an early build '95 TSi AWD. Mods are: BCS removal, Test Pipe, K&N FIPK, No dump tube, Triple pod, boost gauge. In the fall, I was getting 16PSI until 5200 RPM, where it settled to 12 PSI. It would spike to about 20~21PSI. The other day, I was pulling onto the highway, and a civic didn't want to let me in. I romped on it in fourth, car pulled like the bejezus, and then I got what felt like fuel cut (felt like rev limit kicked in). Just before that, I glanced at my boost gauge and saw a 23 PSI spike! It was VERY cold that day, about 5 degrees out, and the car was fully warmed up. I tried this again when it was warmer, and got only 20PSI again. My questions are:
1.) Why the hell is it spiking so hard? Is something wrong? Or is the bcs just slow from the cold?
2.) Was that fuel cut, or something else?
3.) Should I worry about my block/rings/pistons? I don't really care about the T-25, as it's getting replaced soon.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Matt.
