I knew they were identical to the stock mounts but wasn't sure if the bolt needed that much room to move. But thanks for covering it

And mine might have looked painted but all I did was just clean it up before I snapped some pictures.

Okay. I had planned on getting a set from a junkyard and either media blasting them or something, then sending them out, then painting them when I got them back. I still haven't been able to make it out to the yard where I think I can get a set.

I got my spares off eBay. They're accepting best offers for them. I offered $10 for each mount and I got them. I'm ready to ship them out but I've been so busy with school, installing new parts, and maintaining a social life.

I painted mine after getting them back, mainly for rust protection. A few edges of the mount housing had been grinded down a bit exposing some bare metal. So I masked off the aluminum and sprayed a few coats on there.

How do these compare to poly mounts? I have the full poly motor mount kit installed in the tsi, I'm used to the rattling now.

I guess another review wouldn't hurt:
I took out the car for the first time in about a month and this is what I noticed with the new mounts. Now keep in mind that with me I went from 4 stock (rubber) mounts to front/rear solids and passenger and driver side Poly's. And I changed them all out at the same time.
Whoever said something about feeling the starter engage when starting the car, you are exactly right.
VIBRATION: The vibration to be honest is not that bad. The only time that the vibration gets a little annoying is start-up, downshifting, and at about 1800 RPM. But other than that it's fine. I have my idle set at 850 and there is just a tad bit of vibration (feels like a massage).
SHIFTING: Like others have said shifting improved greatly and there is not slop at all.
I didn't a few quick pulls and it responds great. When shifting the engine doesn't feel like it's going to rip out of the car anymore. It feels like the whole front end is just more solid.
There is deffinately a more race'er feel to the car.
Now my only concern (I don't know if you could even call it a concern) but is while on the highway and deceling there is a noise that sounds like a slight grind or zzzzzzzz, maybe? I don't know what it is or if it's normal with these mounts but maybe others have had the same noise?
All in all great product.

He's only responding to people that are "really" interested.

^^^ EXACTLY ! ^^^
He's not there to answer 20 questions on whether or not you should do them.
I had NO problems with contacting him or hearing back from him.
But then again, My only questions were to confirm his PayPal address and shipping address.
I sent him the mounts and got them back in a reasonable amount of time and all at a reasonable price.

If you really want them, I'd keep asking. It's definitely worth it

It's all within this thread but you kinda have to look for it. Maybe if all the info was on the first post?
