does anyone know where i can get them aside from Magnus or FFWD connection? the cheapest i found was Monkey Wrench racing, and it was $1800. i don't need it assembled or to send 'em my core or anything, i just need the kit. i can do it myself in the "garage" (aka, shed). i detonated a piston, and figured while the block is get machined, might as well go for the stroker kit. I have a 2G, and we checked for crankwalk... no signs whatsoever after 80K miles. I must be one of the lucky few... I'd ask the guys at Mach V , but they'd just try to promote the products on their board and avoid giving info on competitors. it's OK, they're still cool.
talk you guys later

Adam (yeah that's my car by the way... i figured i'd post it until i do my sig :thumb: )

yeaaaaaah i remember my father showing that to me. $4K, $2K down, 16 weeks. insane. If that's the case, i'll leave it stock and stick to bolt ons. :|

right. i was lookin at that then i saw the price and shipping and just walked outta the room.:D

Hi guys. I've lurked here for a while but haven't posted before. Just thought I'd chime in with some detail...

The difference is that our kit doesn't have a custom billet crank. Ours is similar to the stock crank. Billet cranks are overkill- have you ever heard of anyone breaking a stock crank? The other parts (Crower rods and Wiseco pistons) are just as good as the Crower kit.

The only real advantage to the billet cranks is you can go even higher with the stroke to get 2.4 or even 2.5L. The stroke gets a little long at that point though and the engine doesn't like to rev very high. The crank we sell gets you about 2.35L, which is a good compromise.

Guys we offer a stroker kit as well. Our kits start at $1350. That gets you Eagle rods, JE pistons, pins, rings, Clevite 77 rod and main bearings, and a stock 6 bolt 4G64 crank. The rotating assembly is balanced and the crank polished.

Knife edged crank add $100
Crower rods add $375
Custom JE pistons add $80
High carbon tapered wrist pins add $80

We do a 7 bolt kit as well, but the 6 bolt kit is by far more popular.

Thanks

there are plenty of stories of crankwalk plagued engines just after they've been built up or rebuilt. I'd be careful if i were you.

2.4L mighty max pickup has 4g64 also.

Hey polk, do you guys sell just wrist pins. im kinda pinless and need em. thanx

i ordered the carshopinc kit... entire package ran right about 1k w/ shipping. It is currently being balanced and fitted into my block. I'm waiting on a stage 3 head from slowboy to ship (they said today or tomorrow) and then I will be putting it in the car. I am hoping it will be up and running in about a month (yeah yeah ... I know its a long time but I figure a week to get the head here, a couple days to get it back from the guy putting it together, and then a couple weeks to install it as I work and go to school...)

But I have no complaints about their service, in fact it was better than some of the bigger dsm tuners. My only concern about the entire thing is that the crank is remanufactured - so we'll see how that goes.
