Torque Specifications specs

Fly Wheel: 94-101 ft. lbs. or 140 NM of TQ (use hi-temp loctite (red tube)) Tighten down in star pattern.

Pressure plate to fly: 14-16 ft. lbs.

Main's: 18 ft. lbs. + 90* (1/4 turn)

Head stud's:
Apply hi-temp thread sealer to thread's, then hand tighten into block, then back them off (1) full turn. Put the head on one with washers, and nut's. Use the ARP Moly Lube and tighten in a 3 step process: Do them all at 25 ft. lbs., then 50 ft. lbs., then 80 ft. lbs (in order, and using moly lube), if using 10wt. motor oil finish tightening them down to 120 ft. lbs. After first heat cycle re-TQ them.
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/atta...7&d=1119319739

Valve cover: 2.3-2.5 ft. lbs.

Camshaft Bearing: 14 ft.lbs.

Oil pan: 5 ft. lbs.

Connecting rod:
18 ft/lbs + 90* (1/4 turn)

Exhaust manifold to head:
1G: 20 ft. lbs.
2G: 20 ft. lbs. on the small stud's, and 21 ft. lbs. on the 2 larger outer stud's

Cam Caps: 14-15 ft. lbs.

Oil pump housing: 11-13 ft. lbs. (apply a dab of loctite to the bolt's before instalation)

Front case: 11-16 ft. lbs. Except the 10mm bolt which must be tightened to 20-25 ft. lbs.

Well I figured I'd contribute these, and perhap's they will help. These were pulled from my factory manual/CD-ROM manual.

PS: If anyone else has any spec's to add, or torquing pattern pic's please do so. It would be nice if we could get it stickied so it's a one stop thread for those without manual's.

Dustin

There's nothing really exotic about torquing fasteners, although some exotic metals allow you to apply more than routine torque, and some softer metals that you're threading into will allow less than normal:

[RESOLVED] Torque spec for 2g turbo/manifold bolts

Hi all,

The recommended torque spec that is in my shop manual seems way too low for the bolts that connect the turbo to the manifold. Does anyone know what the torque spec is for these bolts?

thanks

Damn..really? Surpise, the manual is right then! Those things were very difficult to remove so I figured they were torqued very high. I guess i'm wrong then.

The FSM calls for 40-47ft/lbs of torque to be used on the turbo to manifold bolts. I wouldn't trust a Chiltons/Haynes manual for shit but diagrams.

If you are talking about the four bolts that secure the flex plate to the torque converter on a 2G turbo automatic transmission, it is 33-38 ft. lbs.

This thread is awesome, keep it coming. As soon as it's a few pages long i'll print it out for a spot in my "quick reference" binder where i keep as much pertinent but as little "useless" information as possible.
