Ok guys I was wondering if you could all tell me some average power increases for front-middle mounted intercoolers. Whether the results are from a Dyno or just by feel. IF at all possible specify (stock) turbo or not. Thanks:dsm:

from what i hear if you add it to a t-25 its acctually supposed to decrese performance cause the turbo is weak body.... so from what i've gathered its not worth getting a frontmount unless you already have a better turbo or at the same time you get the new turbo...

The FMIC wont really add too much power on its own. The increase really is in how much extra boost you can run with it. A stock turbo would and a FMIC would be a horrible match. Money would be better spent going with a slightly larger turbo.

Wouldnt it help if you were running high boost out of your stock turbolike over 20psi

Naaa, 20psi isn't enough. You should shoot for like 23-25psi with the t-25. Then youll notice a big increase:thumb:

From what I have seen on average a decent fmic will usually yield you around 20 to 30 extra crank hp, give or take, with an upgraded turbo. You probably could crank out a few extra ponies with the stock T-25 but those gains wouldn't be nearly as much, and not really worth it as compared to what you would make with an upgraded turbo.

Ok guys quick question off the subject. I turned up my boost to like 20-25 psi once at night and when i parked it after a quick "Beating" I noticed the exhaust manifold was glowing. I had a small leak mid point on the car at the time could that be a factor? If not what would cause that?

20-25 psi on a t-25??

ewww. I didnt know that was even possible.

It is normal for the turbo to glow tho, even normally aspirated engines will glow at the exhaust manifold.

As long as it only glows when you are on it, and it goes away soon.

he'll also notice a smoking turbo. :)

Thanks guys, It was at around 23-25 psi that this happened. And it was only the manifold that was glowing. Also I have an accurate auto-meter boost gage and when i crank the boost it goes past the 30 psi. limit of the gage, is that normal as well. A guy I know with a 1G said its the stock turbo but I don't know anymore? I bought it at a dealership 1 year ago. it's a 98 2G and it had a few mods on it right in the begining so I'm not sure if it has a stock snail or not. So any tips to find out let me know!
Thanks again!!!

Hear is my tip to you. If you want to keep your motor stop running anything over 18lbs on your stock turbo and NEVER EVER run that much boost on pump gas. If you have a stock turbo I believe you should be able to read Garret t25 right by where the intake attaches to the turbo.

I second that! Anything over 16 to 18 psi on the T-25 is pushing it's life expectancy, and not really worth it, also boost will fall of dramatically past 5500rpm anyways.
