I was curious, I have a low vacuum problem and I noticed that when I remove my oil cap I can feel/hear what sounds like exhaust coming out.
-15" at idle,
Why would it do this and what would cause this?
Could having my exhaust cam gear off a tooth or something contribute to this?
Please help!
Okay, I just did another compression test.
WHen I first go the motor (at the JDM motors place) they did compression test on it (hooked up starter) and it read close to 180 psi across the board.
Now I did another test today and it read 150 across the board! WTF.
I did change the timing belt prior to installing the motor and ever since I installed it the car runs pretty good, but it gets pretty damn loud at WOT, and I cant boost past 18psi no matter if my wastegate is connected or closed shut. My turbo seems to spool a bit late as well. (50 trim)
My car does not burn ANY oil and blow ZERO smoke out of the exhaust
WHen I did the compression test I was curious so I added a capful of oil into one of the cylinders to see what happened and my compression numbers hardly moved at all, maybe 3psi...
So I believe the motor is good, I honestly think it has something to do with my cam timing.
My base timing is dead on at 5Degrees, which leads me to believe my exhust cam is off time
Only thing is, with the engine in the car, the marks looks pretty lined up. But I could be wrong.
Also it seems like my car wants to knock if I dont run it crazy rich, not to mention my cruise fuel trim is impossible to tune.
I had this same setup on my gst, so I know everything was working fine on my other motor.
