any suggestions on a boost controller I have a few in mind but I'd like input from people that actually use them so if ya got got one let me know and what ya think about it.

I really like the ease and simplicity of my Hallman, but for a FWD, having one boost setting may not be acceptable for you. A friend of mine has a dual stage MBC from dejon tool that he really likes.

but for a FWD, having one boost setting may not be acceptable for you...

I WAS gonna get a dual stage MBC, but it's easier IMO to just not give it 100% throttle in first gear than to flip a switch to go to a higher boost setting between shifts.... Even if you do get a dual stage boost controller for the purpose of 1st gear grip, you still wont be able to give it 100% throttle unless you run a damn low boost setting in 1st gear. If you decide on a dual stage boost controller, get it because you want to set a street boost level and a track boost level, not because you want to switch boost levels between shifts. However if you insist on switching preset boost levels on the fly (between shifts), I recommend the GReddy profec b with the remote switch. Mount the remote on the steering wheel and you'll be straight...

also i could tell you how to, in theory, build a two stage mbc for $25 or so

Great link!!! I was reading the instructions and I'm confused on how he adjusted the boost controller. Anybody else have any good links on how to make a boost controller???

If you want to go MBC make sure you get a Ball and spring not the bleeder type, this is why ppl have problems with the hallmans and the joePs, On the other hand the Ball and spring ones like the Extreme XMBC will hold more constant boost levels. They may be alil more expencive but i just had a friend that was runnign a JoeP, and while he was racing his 2G his boost spiked to 22psi and blew his motor.

If you want to go with a digital Boost controller im a big fan of the HKS EVC EZ or EVC VI.

I have personaly used the Extreme XMBC and the HKS EVC VI. Loved them both but the ease of being able to control the boost from inside the car on the HKS puts it at the top of my list...

Just my .02...

I also have an extreme XBC and it is great. if I got an electronic it would be a blitz beceause a profec has trouble over 24psi.
