Hey guys i know this might be a dumb question to some but. . i bought a Boost gague a while back and now am ready to install it. . but now i find out that its missing some things. . .where can i find. . .tubing i think 1/8. . .teflon tape. . .ferrule. . hex nut and nex nut adapter. . .sorry for the trouble guys but thanks for reading.

You should be using silicone vacuum hose to install the boost gauge, not the cheep crap that the auto parts stores sell but the good quality stuff that wont expand under boost and collapse under vacuume, you can get it from most DSM vendors, couple good places are www.roadraceengineering & www.hightempsilicone.com , you will want the 4mm stuff. Then all you need is a T barbed fitting (to T into fpr line) and a 1/8" NPT female thread barbed fitting for the gauge end. Can probably pick up the fittings & pipe dope at Home depot or industrial hydraulics supply companies should have them.

I know darenp meant to say FPS instead of FPR. ;) It's easy to get them confused. We've all done it at least once in our lives.

I totally agree with his recommendation of using silicone or thick rubber vacuum hose, and avoiding the white nylon tubing that comes with most gauges. I actually checked my auto parts store for the 1/8" NPT female brass fitting for the back of the gauge, and I was surprised that I didn't find it. Home Depot would probably have it, though, and I know I've seen it at other auto parts stores.

Actually there's a couple dsm vendors that have "boost gauge install "kits"". I used one, it came with good silicone line and even splice connectors for the wiring with wire. Dsmotorsports has one i think.

Or just get good line like said above, RRE has some as well. I got their "larson hose kit" to replace all my vac line, and i had more than enough to do everything. So check that out if you want to replace your vac line or do a vac line elim.

UHH huh? LoL sorry but what is a FPS, FPR and a NPT? soo the silicone hose sould be 1/8th? right? Thanks again

NPT is a style of "fitting" or "nipple" used for many different applications.

FPS= Fuel Pressure Solenoid

FPR= Fuel Pressure Regulator

And either 4mm of 1/8th would do fine i believe.

When I bought my boost gauge, I bought extrememotorsports.com's boost gauge install kit with it, which included all the fittings and hoses, etc. It made installation very easy. I don't care much for their new catalog setup, though. It's very difficult to find what you're looking for.

Correct, had a little slip of the fingers, should be FPS. NPT stands for national pipe thread, its a tapered thread and most automotive boost gauges will be a 1/8" NPT thread, so this is the size of thread that you will need to screw onto your boost gauge.
