What do you think? If you have a stiff spring that takes only 1 turn to change it 4 psi or a light spring that takes only 1 turn to change it .5 psi....Will boost build faster this way? Or will it still be the same as long as you set it correctly. In other words... Will the turbo spool just as fast?

I doubt because whether the soring is stiff or loose 15psi is 15psi. if anything a stiffer spring may cause it to spike.

well if the spring keeps the wastegate closed until desired boost then the boost would build faster because exhaust energy is not being bled off slowly as the wastegate opens gradually. BUT with an MBC you will get significant spike with a stiffer spring.

Why would you get a significant spike with a stiff spring? That would then be a disadvantage to a stiff spring. But if you set the MBC correctly then you shouldn't have to worry about exhaust energy being bled off slowly as the wastegate opens gradually. Correct?

A stiffer spring would be harder to move at any psi so that's why it would spike.
