I installed my new turbo (18g), manifold (evo 3), O2 (evo 3) housing and DP (buschur 2.5) on my Talon AWD. My trouble is the evo O2 is at such a different angel that the DP is very tight to the transfer case. Now the flange from the DP to the cat is hitting the drive shaft. The other bad part is I had all the parts ported and flow matcher plus ceramic coated. Other the trying to bend the DP what can I do?

I have checked all the bolts and made sure everything is right where it should be. My understanding is I may have to just buy a new O2 housing.:toobad:
Thanks
S.T.

Keep the O2, Get a new DP that is bent to fit with the evo-o2.

R//RE has them, as does Dejon.

Most DP's are bent to be used with stock 1g-2g o2's, so using an evo3 set's the piping at a different angle, so you need a different DP to compensate to put the exhaust back where it should be.

I was looking at Megan(I think thats how its spelled) Dp would that fit or is RRE and Dejon the only 2 choices?

I had a muffler shop make me a 2.5 exhaust from the cat back. My test pipe is a slip joint so if need I can change where the flange bolts up. I have been thinking of having a new exhaust made in 3".

If you have the money just get the RRE evo-o2 system with an apexi catback, or get the whole evo-o2 dejon system.

That way you don't have to mess with fitment and you can just bolt it right up to your nicely flowing evo-o2.

thanks so much for the info! I will buy the Dejon system.

what that said,
Any one looking for a 40 mile old Buschur 2.5" DP ported/cleaned up and ceramic coated?
Thanks
S.T.

If you're goin gto do the dejon, i'd suggest doing the oval can unless you don't care about noise. Mine with the bullet muffler and 2nd bullet "resonator" option is pretty darn loud.

The oval can should help cut down on some drone and give it a deeper tone.

Good choice though with the dejon, it's a good price, excellent product and sounds freekin mean.

Have fun man!

My advice is to sell your evo3 o2 and just buy a 2g o2 and port it. No difference besides your wallet will be a little fuller. Plus with a stock o2, you can retain your existing DP.

Are you fuggin kidding me...
That thing is ported and ceramic coated.
It's easily a $300 plus investment.
Have you ever seen the difference in size of a ported stk O2 housing and a ported Evo 3....
I think you'd reconsider.

My advice is to sell your Buschur DP and buy a DP that is designed to fit with an Evo 3 O2 housing.

Say what you will. I've seen both and perhaps I made my judgement based on MY ported o2. Now answer me this, will you honestly notice a difference? Have you ever used one back to back and tried to compare seat of pants power ? I have with an evo o2, stock 2g o2, heavily ported o2, and tubular. No difference to me besides creep issues with my old e316G and if it was a difference, does that .5 HP justify the extra money on buying a new downpipe?

Except that the Evo3 O2 is only 2.5" diameter. An exhaust is only as efficient as its narrowest part, in this case, the O2 housing. The only way he'd benefit from a 3" exhaust is to get a true 3" O2 housing.

Not so much, Go to RRE's exhaust page and read about how they R&D'd their 2.5"-3" Dp's.

2.5" is fine for 12-24" until exhaust gases begin to cool. But because exhaust gasses are SOOOOO hot exiting the o2 housing, size doesn't matter because of the speed of the exhaust gas. The Biggest thing you need to worry about with an o2 housing is how well it controls boost creep.

hey man, keep that nice evo 02 housing, and the nice coated dp, and have your local muffler shop that made your cat back weld on a different flange to fit up the evo. Itd be your cheapest route.

Hence why I can't understand why any of you can't agree with me. This is strangely reminiscent of the great 2.5" vs. 3" turboback debates (on 300whp cars btw) that happen twice a week.

I just say keep the evo o2 because of boost control issues, but he will notice a change in power going from a 2.5" to 3" dp. which is why i said ditch the dp, keep the o2, and get a nice o2 back system that can fit with a evo 02.
